Make Your Creative Business Centre Stage

20 June 2022 to 21 June 2022
10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Delivered in partnership with Create North, we are running a creative enterprise workshop programme for practitioners who are interested in exploring how rural buildings and settings can offer amazing opportunities to capture new audiences in exciting new ways through performances, shows, exhibitions and workshops.

This fully funded two-day programme is designed for performance artists, participatory artists, and creative practitioners of all hues who are based North of the Tyne and in Northumberland .

The programme will run on 20th and 21st June within beautiful Blanchland Abbey.

The Abbey’s community is enthusiastically exploring how it might work with artists to make the very most this space can offer. The building has an amazing acoustic chamber so we are hosting the programme to coincide with national Make Music Day.

So switch off from the day-to-day routine of running your business and invest time exploring how you can make the most of the region’s finest rural assets to develop your creative practice.

Over the course of the two days you will:

  • Hear about how other creative practitioners have worked within rural settings to successfully generate new creative and commercial opportunities for themselves

  • Participate in ideas generation workshops designed to help you identify new ways of developing your practice with different audiences in mind

  • Develop your creative entrepreneurial know-how

  • Identify new creative and commercial networks that may add value to your work

  • Find out about funding opportunities

  • Have the opportunity to platform ideas and sell your work

  • Meet representatives of the rural, cultural and creative organisations active within the area

  • Find out about upcoming creative and commercial opportunities

  • Have opportunities to create new work individually and collaboratively.

There’ll be contributions from local specialists, and the programme will be festooned with opportunities to spend time with other creatives and build your networks… and of, course, there will be wonderful food and drink to help keep everyone perky!

To access the training you will need to complete a registration form. Places are fully funded but limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
